On Saturday evening 11th July Ferrymead Rotary hosted its very first Scottish Ceilidh at Club Redcliffs, and what an incredible success it was!
It was a sold-out event, the dance floor was full from start to finish, and the room was filled with laughter, smiles and people enjoying the simple pleasure of spending time together.
For many of us, it was our first Ceilidh, but thanks to the wonderful guidance of Theo and G Barndance Duo everyone was soon up on their feet joining in the dancing. From the traditional address to the Haggis and Scottish supper, to the whisky tasting, live music and dancing, it was truly memorable evening.

One comment from our caller really captured the spirit of the night. He said that one of the reasons he continues to run Ceilidhs in retirement is because he loves bringing communities together off screens and back into the same room, where people can connect face-to-face. Looking around the room on Saturday night, it was hard not to agree.

We're also delighted to share that, thanks to your incredible support, the evening raised more than $2300 for local community projects.

A huge thank you to:
Theo and G Barndance Duo for creating such a welcoming, energetic and memorable evening
Ray White Ferrymead for generously sponsoring our raffle hamper
Design Supply Co. for donating the bottle of whisky for our raffle
AND OF COURSE thanks to everyone who bought a ticket and came along to support Ferrymead Rotary and Club Redcliffs for hosting the event and helping create such a fantastic atmosphere.
